Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, Jean-Sébastien Francoeur studied film making at Concordia University where he won "Best Cinematography "two years in a row. In 2012, he shot, as a cinematographer, his first feature film “The Roots Remain” in Cambodia, which was widely acclaimed around the globe.

Since then, he has been involved in many other projects of various mediums such as documentaries, TV shows, music videos, short films and advertisements. Fascinated by remote location filming, his cinematography also takes him around the world to discover other cultures allowing him to expand his interpretation of visual beauty.

Jean-Sébastien never stops creating imagery on a dailybasis. He is as well a passionate photographer, using analogue and digital medium of all format.

Always building new and strong collaborations, he is currently in pre-production for two other drama feature films.
